The primary focus of a Producer is to be a steward of the idea amplification and execution. The Producer manages the execution and the vision of the creative idea, and is dedicated to finding the best path to execute the work. Responsibilities include providing solutions to technical problems, providing alternative suggestions, sharing new and evolving options for deliverables, finding suitable production partners for ideas, and being able to understand the limitations and possibilities of the medium. The Producer partners with the Project Manager and the Creative Team. Managing projects’ scopes, schedules, procurement and negotiations are also integral parts of this role.

Day to Day:

  •  Ensures print quality is achieved.
  •  Works with Team One studio and external vendors to ensure all work is manufactured to necessary specifications.
  •  Contacts suppliers, printers and publications directly regarding specifications and shipping information.
  •  Determines common sizes for ads (and the like) with multiple publications in an effort to reduce mechanical and pre-press material costs.
  •  Researches substrate options (such as paper) for specific printed projects.
  •  Performs press checks to ensure color quality and consistency.
  •  Facilitates final retouched image downloads for digital asset library.
  •  Purchases separations, retouching and printing.
  •  Reviews all proofs with Art Directors, interprets their revisions, determines the best method for executing, and reviews the revisions with the supplier.
  •  Triple bids all estimates or follows EVP guidelines for separations and printing. Supervises the film preparation and shipping of ad materials.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of solid production knowledge and experience in advertising or related business is required, as is experience with similar accounts, experience with cost consultants and proven ability to accurately cost out jobs.

Education: A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Skills and Abilities: This person must be highly organized, with a charismatic and varied communication style.
