The Group Media Director’s primary responsibility is to lead the strategy, development and execution of multi-channel communications plans in U.S. and key EMEA and APAC countries. The Director must have comprehensive understanding of national and local broadcast, expert digital branding and direct response experience and lead print and out of home planning efforts.
Management oversight for US regional teams as well as EMEA and APAC planning partners. Guides the regional planning teams on overall client strategy, plan development, stewardship, measurement, and ROI analysis. Plays an integral strategic and tactical role in ensuring planning efforts are on strategy and deliver against branding and response goals.
Is tasked with expansion, seeking new and innovative strategic alliances/programs that drive brand and business growth.
The Group Director is also a key contributor to overall departmental operations, and is specifically accountable for overseeing digital media operations, ad tech procurement and digital education across agency and clients. Works with Account Directors and Management/Account Supervisors to maximize efficiencies and look at opportunities for improvement.
Consults with HR Team on employee concerns that impact employment status and health issues in a confidential and timely manner. Directs and oversees employee evaluation process. Responsible for motivating, inspiring, coaching and training employees. Acts as Team One ambassador ensuring Publicis, Saatchi and Saatchi, and Team One policies and guidelines are followed.
Day to Day:
Generate strategic initiatives and business-building ideas for clients; create new and unique programs to achieve marketing objectives.
Lead annual planning process including situation analysis, competitive review, recap of existing programs, development of objectives, strategies, tactics and budget recommendations.
Maintain client budget and oversee billing process to ensure accuracy.
Travel to regional dealer and board meetings around the country.
Travel to global PIMCO offices.
Lead and manage LDA/PIMCO staff including allocating projects, training, performance reviews, motivation, and career coaching/enhancement. Responsible for growth and development of senior staff.
Manages partnership/communications with paid search partner, Performics.
Participate in agency collaboration meetings, and all necessary client-related meetings.
Partner with Executive Director and other departmental directors to manage overall department operations.
Continue to grow and evolve the Media plans and proposals, increasing the team’s profile within the agency, and to clients, and within the greater marketing communications community.
Experience: Ten to fifteen years of experience preferred in the areas of media and affiliations marketing for major marketing-savvy clients, with core expertise in traditional and digital advertising, research, strategy and media analytics.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing-related field, Master’s degree or other equivalent education in related field is a plus.
